Ten Places Online Where You Can Advertise For Free
Ten Places Online Where You Can Advertise For Free

One of the more helpful results, or products of the Internet is the establishment of a number of websites that are massive classifieds listings directories that are free to use. If you have items to sell or have a service to advertise or you are job hunting for a new career, these websites are a real helpful tool to use, almost invaluable. However it was not always so easy and affordable, once upon a time before there was such a wonderful thing such as the Internet, one had to pay money to advertise in newspapers and magazines and that process wasn’t so easy like it is today, back then you had to get the newspaper or magazine the day it came out because 1 million other people are doing the exact same thing and in order to get whatever it is that you want, you had to move fast, especially for jobs and housing. If you were posting an ad, then what you wanted to do was post it closest to the time of the magazine or newspapers’ issuing so that you get the maximum amount of advertising exposure. Basically it all meant that you worked around the magazines and newspapers schedules, not yours.
With all of these free Internet advertising services websites that are available to you today and the user-friendly nature of the Internet, you can list your item or service or whatever it is that you are offering or needing, in just minutes. In around thirty minutes you can re-post your offer or whatever it is that you want onto ten different websites, which can return amazing results. Below are a list of the top ten mostly- free classifieds websites that should work for you. It is just a list of suggestions, and for legal reasons, I have to state that I do not take any responsibility for your interactions with the websites or the website’s behaviors and practices, nor accept liability for anything that occurs between you and the websites.
1. Backpage Listings
This website is a huge network of cities and regions, it works well, it’s easy to navigate and user friendly, its mostly free to list on, and lots of people swear by it. In regards to paying for the website’s “extras” and their effectiveness, the answer to that is that it really depends on what amount of money is involved and how badly you want results; they don’t say that “you get what you pay for”, for nothing after all.
2. Kijiji
(For Canadian cities only)
This website is owned by EBAY, who owns online banking and payment giant Paypal, and in the last decade they have built a juggernaught of a website that has steadily grown year after year to become another invaluable, mostly free service to hundreds of thousands of people, but Canadians specificly. I have no idea why EBAY only operates this website in Canada, but it is only for Canadian cities and regions, which in itself is a consumer market of millions of regular online users.
3. Craigslist
This is another massive classifieds listings juggernaught that is free to use, it’s very popular, it’s easy to understand and user friendly. Be sure to check out all of the categories before you list anything because sometimes listing your item in an more obscure choice of category will achieve better results than the apparent obvious choice.
4. Oodle
Oodle is also a mega classifieds listings titan that has a nifty Facebook integration which allows tens of millions of Facebook users to list or browse right from their Facebook page, which empowers Oodle tremendously in contrast to the other websites. Oodle also has a nifty API system in place for aggregating their data which is nifty for savvy webmasters.

Now, here is a neat trick that you can use on occasion if you are crafty, and that is to use alternative listings websites as a classifieds solution or as an advertising solution, or even as a job hunting solution, such as an event listings website like Eventful, or on EBAY itself and pay for a listing, which also doubly serves as advertisement. Models and photographers can use their medium’s industry websites like Model Mayhem which have forums, and in fact most industries today have mega niche websites with populated forums where direct contact with specific consumer demographics can be hit. I cannot stress enough that most of these sites that I have listed have heavy anti spammer policies so make sure you read their individual rules to things and you will be fine.
